Puppy Training Classes
Help your puppy put their best paw forward with positive reinforcement group training classes taught by certified dog trainer, Elayne Reynolds. Small group dog training classes (limited to 4 dogs per class) ensure that you and your pet receive the individual time that you need. Our primary goal is to train your pet to be well mannered, people friendly and well socialized with other dogs. 

Basic Obedience Class

The basic obedience class is intended for puppies between the ages of 10 weeks and 8 months. These classes are designed to help socialize and train your pet  in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Basic obedience will include focus, sit, heel, stay, down, and come commands.  In addition, house training, chewing, teething, jumping and digging behaviors will be addressed depending on the interests of the individual classes.  

When are classes offered?

Classes meet once a week for six consecutive weeks with sessions being one hour each. Occasional holidays may result in the course running seven weeks. Holiday breaks will be noted when registering for class. Registration fee is $135.00 for the six week course.

What do we need to do before we can start classes?

You will receive an information packet from your trainer that will have questions regarding your dog’s behavior and their environment. All pets need to be current on age appropriate Distemper, Bordetella and Rabies vaccines. 

What do I need for our first class?

The first class will be a general orientation lesson and therefore your pet does not need to accompany you. Your trainer will discuss the organization of the sessions, items that you will need for training, and general rules and guidelines. You may complete and turn in your paperwork along with your registration fee directly to your trainer during this session.

Soon after Elayne Reynolds graduated from the Animal Behavioral College, she founded Forever Friends,LLC a company which provides private in-home training for dogs between the ages 8 weeks to 11+ years. She is excited to now be able to offer group classes at River Road Veterinary Hospital, Andover MA. Training with your dog strengthens the bond between you and your pet allowing you to be “Forever Friends”.
