Feline Perks
One of the advantages of starting a practice from scratch is being able to create a strategy that minimizes stress for your cat or kitten during their entire visit with us and incorporate those details into the design of our hospital
Separate Waiting Areas:
One of the first things you will notice when you walk in to the reception area is that we have separate waiting areas for cats and dogs. Turning to the right you will enter the cat waiting area, free from curious wet dogs noses looming at carrier doors and the general hubub associated with excited, social canines. We hope to start off the visit with a reduced stress level.
Exam Rooms:
Several exam rooms were designed with cats in mind. They each have a variety of equipment specific for feline exams. This includes a feline scale which accurately weighs small, mobile cats at the time of their exam, eliminating the need to remove them from the safety of their carriers prior examination. It has a plastic, rather than metal, surface so their paws won't get cold.
Pet Wards:
During hospitalization, cats stay in a feline only ward. It is even infused with a phermone to reduce feline anxiety.
Gustopher's:
Although named after a canine, Gustopher's has many items for our feline friends. Feline prescription diets and treats are available along with numerous toys with the sophisticated feline in mind. Interactive toys are just as important for cats as they are for dogs. They not only encourage weight loss but also stimulate the mind and prevent boredom. Other items include greeting cards created by a local artist, kitty collars and grooming supplies.
