Reception Area – We work on an appointment based system therefore there isn’t usually much waiting. We have a spaceous reception area that allows having separat
e waiting areas for dogs and cats. This decreases the stress for the cats and allows dogs to avoid each other if they choose.
Off of reception, is a retail area (Gustopher's) where you can find a variety of prescription diets and maintenance products, such as toothpaste/ toothbrushes, shampoos, glucosamines and more. You will also find a selection of Lupine® leashes/ collars as well as a number of toys that we have personally used and have found to be fun for our own pets. If you have any questions about any items we are happy to answer them for you. There is also an area where you can let your dog have a cookie on us!
Examination Rooms – We have 5 exam rooms. Some are equipped for large dogs and the others are designed for small dogs and cats. Each “dog room” has a hydraulic lift table which allows the pet nurse to do an exam and weight your pe
t at the same time. Each cat room has a scale that is designed specifically for small pets. Hidden away are materials the doctors and petnurses may need during physical exams. These include corneal stain strips (check for scratches on eyes), tear test strips, slides, thermometers and gloves. There are computers in each room to enter in exam findings into your pet’s electronic medical record and also to view radiographs (x-rays) if necessary.
Laboratory - Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for special
ized diagnostics and consultations.
Pharmacy - Our onsite pharmacy is available for your convenience. We stock such items as antibiotics, dewormers, heartworm preventative, arthritis medications, heart medications and much more.
Surgery Suite- Our surgery suite is located off of the treatment area. This is where the sterile surgeries are performed. Only people who are dressed to maintain sterility are permitted to enter. See our virtual surgery for more information.
Treatment Area – This is the hub of the hospital, our main control center if you will. This is also where blood is
drawn, nails are trimmed and ears are cleaned when here for your appointment. Some “dirty” procedures (as opposed to sterile surgeries done in the surgery suite) are done in this including dental procedures, deep ear cleanings, and other procedures that require sedation.
The ICU (intensive care unit) is separated from the treatment room by glass doors. This allows pet nurses and doctors to monitor patients at all times while allowing patients to heal/ recover away from the hustle and bustle of everyday practice. The ICU is fully equipped with ECG machine, blood pressure monitoring capabilities, water circulating blankets, fluid pumps, and a special kennel that has the ability to be filled with oxygen for patients who are in respiratory distress.
Radiology - Most x-ray machines require chemicals for developing films. Our state of the art computed radiology unit does not require these chemicals and therefore is safer for the environment. Is also allows fewer “retakes” resulting in decreased stress for your pet. Since these are digital images we have the ability to have consultation with board certified radiologists with a short turn around time.
Cat Ward - To keep your cat more comfortable during their stay with us, we have separate dog and cat wards. The cat wards are infused with a pheromone that helps to reduce stress and anxiety.
Dog Ward - These wards are flooded with natural light from all of the windows above the runs. There is a door that goes directly to the outside yard to allow a quick exit for walks and playtime. There are large runs for the larger pets and more cozy housing for the little guys.
